Peat moss cultivation project underway

Klasmann-Deilmann has embarked on the world’s largest project cultivating peat moss. In close collaboration with the University of Hannover, a total of 10 hectares of land formerly used for peat extraction are to be prepared by the end of 2016. The Klasmann-Deilmann Group has published its fourth annual Sustainability Report. Due to higher production volumes, total emissions have increased slightly. At the same time there was a decrease in emissions per cubic metre of substrate produced. With their 2014 Sustainability Report and climate footprint at both corporate and product level, Klasmann-Deilmann is continuing on its path towards transparency and dialogue. Managing Director Norbert Siebels said, “We are reinforcing our claim to be the most sustainable company in the substrate sector.”
