Log & Solve: crop monitoring with data that makes the difference

In production horticulture, where the use of peat-reduced or peat-free substrates is becoming the norm, innovative tools for controlling and analysing cultivation are no longer optional extras, but essential for successful cultivation. Log & Solve is a system offered by Klasmann-Deilmann that not only collects cultivation data, but also visualises correlations, enabling well-founded decisions to be made based on precise information.

An intelligent solution for modern challenges.

To be successful in horticulture today, you need more than experience — you need valid data. Factors such as the amount of light, substrate moisture, pH value, nutrient status and pest pressure all have a decisive influence on yield and quality. But how can these parameters be recorded and analysed in a structured way to inform successful cultivation strategies?

This is where Log & Solve comes in: a web-based cultivation monitoring system that is continuously being developed in cooperation with sensor specialist 30MHz. Integrating various sensors (e.g. for substrate moisture or temperature) provides a comprehensive real-time overview of cultivation conditions. Growth development can be tracked via a central web-based dashboard, and cultivation trials can be objectively compared and standardised across locations.

From the field: How our customers use Log & Solve

Hoogeveen Plants: future-proof with data

At Hoogeveen Plants, a leading producer of containerised plants, Log & Solve serves as a central control tool, particularly for growing sensitive crops such as hellebores. Tentacle moisture sensors, strategically placed deep within the plant substrate, continuously record irrigation dynamics. These sensors provide highly accurate real-time measurements of substrate moisture, enabling irrigation to be optimised. Other data, such as EC and pH values, as well as nutrient content in the substrate, comes from laboratory analyses and is seamlessly integrated. This provides enormous support for crop monitoring, especially when switching to modern peat-reduced and peat-free substrates.

The benefits? Clear information on potential crop improvements, more informed cultivation decisions, and greater cultivation reliability. Visual quality checks, such as those of young plants, can also be recorded and archived using image documentation.

„Log & Solve enables us to safely integrate new substrates into the cultivation process and meet modern market requirements using data-driven strategies.“ Learn more.

Van der Voort: standardised test documentation

Log & Solve is a game changer for our farm, which conducts numerous variety trials. Previously, the frequent change of location of the trial plots made it difficult to standardise the evaluation of variety comparisons. Now, however, every trial planting is standardised, from QR code-supported recording to systematic final evaluation with checklists and a digital logbook.

„Only with complete transparency in the trials can we fairly assess whether a new variety has potential.“

The advantages are: Faster decisions, reproducible results, and a central knowledge repository. Learn more.

Take control with Log & Solve.

Log & Solve brings order to the complexity of modern horticultural processes. Whether you want to test peat-reduced substrates, develop new fertilisation strategies or conduct cultivation trials, this system provides the necessary data, highlights correlations and assists you in making cultivation decisions.
