2019 in facts and figures
Our commitment to sustainable corporate governance permeates all of our company’s activities. Both the successes we achieve and the setbacks we experience make us all the more determined to continue down the path we have chosen. Our financial results for 2019
In the 2019 financial year we achieved sales revenue of EUR 219.8 million. The Klasmann-Deilmann Group’s year-end balance sheet total was EUR 203.4 million. Our equity capital increased to EUR 102.9 million.
Our production quantities in 2019
With 3.8 million m³, the production of growing media for commercial horticulture and the consumer sector remained at the previous year’s level. The extraction of peat raw materials decreased to 3.7 million m³. The production of wood fibres at the company’s own plants rose to 289,000 m³. The production of green compost increased to 92,000 m³.
Our short-rotation coppice plantations in 2019
The total area allocated to the creation of short-rotation coppice (SRC) plantations increased to a total of 3,492 hectares in the 2019 financial year (previous year: 3,368 ha). Of this, some 3,109 hectares were under active management as at year’s end.
Our workforce in 2019
In 2019, the Klasmann-Deilmann Group had an international employee headcount of 1,027 (2017: 1,041).
Our logistics operations in 2019
Klasmann-Deilmann supplies customers with growing media in over 90 countries on five continents. Our logistics operations are therefore of crucial importance. In 2019, we used around 42,000 trucks, 1,200 railway cars, 100 barges/ships and 22,000 containers to transport our products.
Managing directors and shareholders
The Managing Directors of Klasmann-Deilmann GmbH are Moritz Böcking (since 2011) and Bernd Wehming (since 2018). Our shareholders are the Bad Bentheim-based company Deilmann-Montan GmbH, with a stakeholding of 57.5%, and the Meppen-based firm Klasmann Anlage- und Verwaltungs GmbH & Co. KG, which holds a 42.5% interest. The Chair of the Administrative Board is Carl-Gerrit Deilmann (since 2007).
