Our production companies
Our extraction and production sites in Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands form the backbone of our substrate-manufacturing operations. We continually invest in the modernisation and expansion of our plants and our machinery pool.
Production company Klasmann-Deilmann Produktionsgesellschaft Nord mbH & Co. KG
Our largest German site, with plants in Sedelsberg and Edewechterdamm, has extensive raw-material reserves and highly efficient substrate production operations. Its links to the wider Deutsche Bahn rail network allow environmentally sound transport within many European markets.
Production company Klasmann-Deilmann Produktionsgesellschaft Süd mbH & Co. KG
The focus of this company’s site close to our corporate headquarters in Geeste is now on extracting high-quality raw peat. Our composting facilities in Groß Hesepe and Dörpen are also part of these operations, as is our largest wood fibre production unit. The plant in Schöninghsdorf produces growing media, the emphasis being on blocking substrates.
The production of growing media for the consumer segment is based at Schwegermoor GmbH. In addition to extracting white peat, this site also operates one of our composting facilities.
The Baltic region
UAB Klasmann-Deilmann Silute
In recent years we have expanded our site in Silute into one of the most modern and efficient production facilities in the world, with an annual capacity of some 1.5 million m³ of growing media. Extraction operations are attached, with extensive raw-material reserves.
Our Lithuanian extraction activities supply the central substrate production operations in Silute with white peat and more strongly decomposed raw peat materials. Here, aided by a modern machinery pool, we use innovative and texture-preserving extraction techniques to obtain high-quality sod-cut peat and milled peat.
Klasmann-Deilmann Latvia SIA
The raw materials extracted in Latvia are chiefly intended for the central substrate production operations in Silute. Acquisition of this subsidiary in 2010 enabled us to considerably extend the reach of our resources, and to spread – and hence minimise – weather-related risks of raw-material harvest shortfalls over different regions in the Baltic states.
Klasmann-Deilmann Potgrondcentrum B.V.
This production site within the port of Rotterdam supplies major markets such as the Netherlands and France with growing media. Additionally, our activities relating to the trading of raw materials from all over the world are brought together here.
Klasmann-Deilmann Brugge N.V.
This production site in the port town of Bruges has been modernised and expanded in recent years. Not least owing to its logistically favourable location, it is geared towards the production of growing media for the Belgian and French market in particular.
Klasmann-Deilmann Ireland Ltd.
Our production company in Ireland has extensive resources that form the basis for excellent growing media. Sod-cut peat, peat fractions and wood fibre undergo further processing in this state-of-the-art substrate factory. From here we supply primarily Irish and British customers with both products in the form of bales (including big bales) and loose goods.
